CARE OF SKIN TAGS

Skin tags are very common small, soft skin growths which are annoying. They look like small soft balloons of hanging skin. These are harmless growths, flesh colored or darkly pigmented tissue that project from the surrounding skin with a small narrow stalk. They may be as small as pin head size bump or may become as large as a grape. They occur on eye lids, neck, arm pits, groin and skin folds where the skin surfaces rub against each other. Plump babies may also develop skin tags in the skin where it rubs like sides of the neck. There may be one or multiple skin tags on the body. Middle age and obese persons are more prone to develop skin tags. Male and females are equally affected. Females during pregnancy have increased tendency and have more frequent skin tags. They may fall of spontaneously or may persist. They are neither cancerous nor contagious. Except for cosmetic appearance skin tags generally cause no pain or discomfort. They usually enlarge or become infected by applying household remedies, trying to cut or remove them. The following preventive simple measures provide relief and permanent cure of this malady;

CARE OF SKIN TAGS:

· Never cut, tie or pull a skin tag as it causes infection and complications.

· Excess body weight should be addressed by regular exercises and healthy food.

· Immediately consult your doctor when the tag causes pain, bleeds, increases in size or changes its colour. Keep good personal hygiene to avoid such issues.
